Benefits to professional
members:
• Members can use the initials MSNN (Professional
Member), or FSNN (Fellow) after their names.
• Receive regular newsletters
• Discount on registration for SNN organised events
• Free access to selected reports
• Discount on website advertising
• Add personal profile on SNN website
• Discounts on buying/subscribing journals and/or
books
• Kept informed about research project opportunities
• Provide a full web-based email facility for
member (given an email address, name@nano-society.org)

Fellow/Professional
To apply for the fellow or the professional
member grade complete the application form

to download) and return it with your up to date CV to
info@nano-society.org
For student and associate
memberships: there is no need to fill in an
application form, just submit your CV’s to info@nano-society.org
indicating the grade of membership in application.
Fellows:
The prestigious grade of Fellow is open to those candidates
who have an established reputation in any aspect of
nanoscience and nanotechnology. Fellowship may be gained
either though a technical contribution or through managerial
or entrepreneurial skills which have led to recognition
in these industries. It is unlikely that applicants
under the age of 35 will have the necessary skills and/or
experience.
2. REQUIREMENTS
There are two main routes to Fellowship:
a. ROUTE 1
For those who have already achieved Professional Membership
or have the required academic and professional background
to become Professional Members.
Candidates for Fellowship should:
• be recognised as authorities or experts in any
significant field of nano-related science and technology
or
• have made a leading contribution to an industrial
process or application
or
• be in a senior position managing technical
staff.
b. ROUTE 2
For those in very senior positions in industry, government
or academia who hold a high degree of influence and
authority in the nano-related professions but are not
themselves technologists. These candidates may come
through the Membership grade or may be new members to
the Institute.
Fees for membership:
The following membership fees are annual:
1. Fellow – 50 GBP
2. Professional Member – 40 GBP
3. Student – 20 GBP
4. Associate – 45 GBP
